Marianne Linder is a dancer and teacher, settled in Berlin. Trained as a professional dancer in Contemporary Dance by SOZO visions in motion in Kassel, she has joined different types of work: dance theatre, stage improvisation, dance in museums context, performance within fine art.
As a dancer in an artistic context her main interest is improvisation; meaning an active sense of the outside while simultaneously being aware of the resonance in the inside to compose time, space and body; mostly influenced by Bettina Helmrich and Maya Carroll.
Dance-technique-wise her curiosity orients towards biomechanics and anatomy; the physical understanding of the structures of the body and which movement(principals) they suggest. Axis Syllabus is the main source of her teaching and research. In Contact Improvisation the physical knowledge finds its playful application.
Marianne Linders teaching empowers people to make their own choices in their movements, through collecting sensorial experience, gaining practical knowledge and reflecting on our own images of body.
