{"id":2286,"date":"2023-02-16T20:57:11","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T19:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/katja-bahini.de\/?page_id=2286"},"modified":"2023-02-28T01:35:42","modified_gmt":"2023-02-28T00:35:42","slug":"angelika-doniy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/katja-bahini.de\/en\/angelika-doniy\/","title":{"rendered":"Anjelika Doniy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anjelika Doniy is a dance improviser, choreographer and teacher\u00a0focused on\u00a0contact.<\/p>\n<p>After\u00a05 years of\u00a0formal\u00a0studies of\u00a0choreography,\u00a0ballet\u00a0dance and other stage disciplines at the\u00a0Higher\u00a0School of Culture\u00a0(St-Petersburg),\u00a0she worked\u00a0for 10\u00a0Years\u00a0as a theater\u00a0choreographer.\u00a0Until\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a01997, I was\u00a0at\u00a0the Impulse\u00a0Dance\u00a0Festival\u00a0in Vienna.\u00a0There, I saw a wonder of CI, watched Steve Paxton\u00a0on stage, flew into\u00a0Andrew Harwood\u00a0workshop where some\u00a070\u00a0dancers were rolling over each other. This was unbelievable, the earth was\u00a0becoming alive.\u00a0I saw\u00a0a realization of\u00a0my dream of\u00a0the world growing from connection, interaction, harmony between\u00a0one and many.<\/p>\n<p>It was\u00a0love\u00a0from the first sight.\u00a0From 2002\u00a0I started\u00a0facilitating\u00a0first jams and CI workshops in Russia and\u00a0initiated\u00a0International Contact Improvisation and Performance Festival in Moscow\u00a0in\u00a02006\u20132010.<\/p>\n<p>My path in CI as a teacher\u00a0began as long journey\u00a0of workshops for beginners.\u00a0I\u00a0love to guide people into the dance,\u00a0inspire\u00a0them\u00a0with their own body, and awaken to what is already there. I love to surprise\u00a0long-time dancers with secrets of the body as little keys opening a familiar dance into new spaces.\u00a0This year, I am following a program of the\u00a0Institute for Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy\u00a0to go deeper into the body and its anatomy, to touch the cells, to breathe through the navel, and to use this resource in my practice.<\/p>\n<p>My special interest in contact improvisation is clarity. Clarity towards the practice. Honesty towards how\u00a0I move\u00a0my weight in the space of Gravity. Attention towards clearing the dance from the personal. Letting things happen as they\u00a0go.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0am grateful\u00a0to have met\u00a0and studied with\u00a0such teachers as Regine Chopinot, Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith, Danny Lepkoff, Benno Voorham, Lisa Nelson, Esther Gal, Yaniv Mintzer, Martin Keo and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Anjelica taught over 200 workshops all over the world for all levels from complete beginners to\u00a0professional dancers. From 0 to 100.<br \/>\nIt is not tension between life and death.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A baby makes no effort. It is life itself. It is sleeping, waking up, crying, laughing, relaxed, trying to lift the head. Life is moving it through the body, emotions, seeing, hearing. But the body, emotions, eyesight, hearing &#8211; all this is not what makes the moves, this is what is moving.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tone is what we want to explore.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We&#8217;ve lost the innocence of a baby who lives\u00a0in freedom, simply in WHAT IS PRESENT.<br \/>\nAn adult lives through\u00a0HOW? WHY? WHERE?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">What\u00a0if we keep the intention to live and act as an expression in tone \u2013\u00a0 from relaxation to unfolding of the spirit in all its power?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">TA DA!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We are exploring relaxation shifting from the concepts &#8220;tired&#8221; and &#8220;lazy&#8221; to &#8220;I express myself without judgments<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ru-RU\">,<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> with love and appreciation.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This is a process. It cannot be learned. We can only go through it from moment to moment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Where thinking about myself ends. Where starts<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ru-RU\">: <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I am what is true, alive and sensitive to changing surroundings, smelling the air of changes, able to trust intuition.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Where it does not matter anymore how others see me. Who are the others and whether they exist. Or there is only me \u2013 all including and accepting.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">If we honestly look at the life of nature, everything lives, giving birth and letting go.<br \/>\nHow is this survival happening? Life is in-tense but not in tension.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We will study our tensions. Maybe this will help us realize something through this vision. To start letting go of what hinders life from flowing freely.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Body and mind become an adventure, riffles, waterfalls, geysers<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ru-RU\">,<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> or peaceful lakes in the flow of dance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">If we are lucky, we&#8217;ll feel the emptiness, the space in which all this soma soup is cooking.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I promise to create conditions for the process.<br \/>\nPlace, time, consciousness, and feedback.<br \/>\nFine thread of informal communication between what is and what we are becoming.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Description of the workshop is not meant to be\u00a0clear.<br \/>\nThat what becomes clarity &#8211;<br \/>\nis the Blessing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This is what our meeting is about.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anjelika Doniy is a dance improviser, choreographer and teacher\u00a0focused on\u00a0contact.
